Team Lead (Java)

CDQ is a product company developing a Master Data Management platform that offers Data Quality as a Service. They focus on collaborative master data management to improve data quality through shared rules, data enrichment, and fraud alerting. The product includes modules like Data Quality Guard, Duplicate Guard, and Tax Guard, which provide data validation, duplicate detection, and tax identifier verification respectively.

• Proficiency with Java 21
• Experience with MongoDB
• Knowledge of Spring Boot
• Familiarity with RabbitMQ and Kafka messaging systems
• Understanding of OpenAPI specifications
• Experience with SQL
• Several years of hands-on backend development experience using modern Java technologies
• Experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating a team of engineers
• Ability to define and enforce architectural and procedural standards

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of Semantic Web technologies including RDF, RDFS, OWL, SHACL, SPARQL, triplestores, and knowledge graph design
• Experience with Spring Expression Language (SpEL)
• Familiarity with Redis
• Experience with MariaDB

People Leadership:

• Taking responsibility for the development of team members, including regular feedback and development conversations
• Organizing the team's work: assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and assessing goal achievement
• Supporting HR in recruitment, onboarding and other people-related processes
• Fostering effective collaboration and a positive team culture
• Managing conflicts and addressing issues related to performance or collaboration
• Supporting team members in developing their skills and progressing in their career

Technical Leadership:

• Providing technical leadership to the team and making key technical decisions
• Taking responsibility for the technical quality of the components developed by the team
• Mentoring team members on technical topics
• Supporting knowledge sharing and the development of technical capabilities within the team
• Defining and enforcing architectural and procedural standards
• Participating in recruitment and assessing candidates' technical competencies
• Collaborating with other technical leaders on architecture, performance, quality and other technical topics
• Working closely with the Head of Software Development and Operations to influence departmental operations, including budget planning, DevOps and operations strategies, and technology decisions
