Senior Site Reliability Engineer II

SmartRecruiters delivers an AI-powered hiring platform for global enterprises and is part of SAP since 2025. They use empowered product teams responsible for business outcomes in their R&D structure.

• 7+ years of professional experience (typical for Senior Engineers II)
• Working knowledge of SRE and observability standards and best practices (SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, incident management, on-call)
• Software development experience in JVM stack
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and IaC tools and practices
• Deep knowledge of the Linux operating system, system hardening, and troubleshooting performance issues
• Very good scripting skills with Bash, Golang, or Python
• Strong communication skills with good English (verbal and written), able to coach and influence engineers
• Experience managing and troubleshooting SQL and NoSQL database systems is a plus
• Understanding of networking standards including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and load balancing is a plus

• Improve, automate, and grow SmartRecruiters observability and reliability tooling (metrics, logs, traces, alerting)
• Mentor members of the engineering team and advocate for modern SRE practices
• Partner with product engineers working in Java, Node.js, and Python to design, instrument, and operate services for failure, owning SLIs/SLOs and error budgets together
• Create reusable building blocks (dashboards, alerts, libraries, and IaC modules) for company-wide use
• Respond to production incidents and client threats, lead remediation, and drive follow-up improvements
• Document standards, best practices, and policies for monitoring, alerting, incident response, and reliability
• Lead reliability-related initiatives across SmartRecruiters

Position available only under a standard contract of employment with 80% tax deductible cost. Candidates may be located anywhere in Poland and work remotely or from the Cracow office.
