Senior Product Engineer

Knapsack is the product company behind Knapsack Pro, a developer-tool that helps engineers optimize CI test runs since 2014. The company is a small team located in Kraków, Poland, mostly working remotely with occasional in-person meetings.

• Seven or more years of professional experience, mainly as a Product/DevTool Engineer
• Proficiency in crafting pragmatic and performant code and taking smart shortcuts where appropriate
• Experience designing public APIs, dev-tools, and user experiences
• Data-driven skills to evaluate alternatives and choose solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to self-direct and manage complex projects
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environment with changing priorities
• Preferably located in Kraków, Poland

Nice to have:

• Experience with TypeScript
• Experience with AWS and Heroku

• Develop complex projects from ideation, scoping, execution, to maintenance
• Take ownership and responsibility for the products and services built
• Interact with users to understand and fulfill their needs
• Participate in responding to support tickets and Pager Duty
• Work across multiple technologies including Heroku/AWS, PostgreSQL, Redis, Ruby/Rails, JS/TS, and various CI systems
