Program Manager - Storage Software Engineering

Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Management, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in Program Management, Technical Program Management, Project Management, Engineering Operations, or Engineering Leadership.
• Proven experience managing projects and large-scale cross-functional programs.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, Agile methodologies, release management, and engineering delivery models.
• Extensive experience with Jira administration, portfolio reporting, dashboards, workflows, and governance.
• Experience coordinating multiple concurrent initiatives across distributed engineering teams.
• Strong project planning, risk management, dependency management, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience with executive reports, business reviews, and strategic planning.
• Ability to operate across technical, operational, and business domains.
• Strong leadership and organizational influence skills.
• Experience working with senior engineering and executive leadership.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills.

Desirable:

• Experience in enterprise storage, cloud infrastructure, SaaS platforms, media technology, or distributed systems.
• Background in software engineering, DevOps, cloud architecture, or infrastructure operations.
• Experience leading organizational transformation and modernization.
• Experience with annual budgeting and strategic investment planning.
• Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, SAFe, Scrum Master, PMI-ACP.
• Experience managing third-party development and technology partnerships.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud-native platforms.
• Understanding of storage technologies including NAS, SAN, Object Storage, Hybrid Cloud, and Distributed File Systems.

Project & Delivery Management:

• Manage and track all active projects across multiple engineering teams.
• Maintain visibility into project status, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, and resource constraints.
• Coordinate daily Scrum activities and resolve blockers, risks, and action items.
• Partner with Product Management to align engineering priorities with business objectives.
• Drive sprint planning, backlog grooming, release planning, and retrospectives.
• Monitor project execution and ensure milestone achievement.
• Facilitate project reviews, stakeholder meetings, roadmap discussions, and planning sessions.
• Maintain project documentation, schedules, action logs, and decision tracking.
• Develop and maintain Jira dashboards, reports, and governance processes.
• Identify schedule risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Program & Portfolio Leadership:

• Lead multiple strategic programs across Storage Software Engineering.
• Establish governance frameworks for planning, execution, reporting, and operational excellence.
• Develop multi-quarter and multi-year program roadmaps.
• Manage program-level dependencies across projects and teams.
• Coordinate engineering activities involving Product Management, Architecture, Security, and other departments.
• Ensure execution of strategic transformation and platform modernization initiatives.
• Manage organizational risks, resource conflicts, and priority changes.
• Facilitate executive steering committees and program governance meetings.
• Develop executive dashboards and status reporting frameworks.
• Support annual planning, budgeting, and investment prioritization.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering productivity, quality, and delivery.

Strategic Initiatives:

• Lead initiatives including Modern Authentication (OIDC, SSO, MFA), Secure Control Plane Programs, Storage Platform Modernization, Cloud and SaaS Transformation, NEXIS VFS on Dell Programs, Qumulo Integration, Keystone Storage and Hybrid Cloud Services, API Platform Strategy, Infrastructure and DevOps Automation, Security, Compliance, and Platform Governance.

Stakeholder Management:

• Act as liaison between Engineering Leadership, Product, and business stakeholders.
• Drive alignment across departments on priorities, schedules, risks, and objectives.
• Communicate program status and risks to executive leadership.
• Manage relationships with external technology partners and vendors.
• Influence organizational decisions through data-driven analysis.
