Senior Software Engineer (Java)

IntellectEU is an international technology company focused on digital finance and emerging technologies. The company has offices in Antwerp, Lisbon, Krakow, Kyiv, and New York, and has been operating for over 15 years as a SWIFT service partner. The team works on a production-grade collateral exchange platform that serves the financial sector and actively evolves with new business use cases.

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals including databases, concurrency, security, and networking.
• Proven software engineering experience with Java/Kotlin or other JVM-based languages.
• Demonstrated contribution to a development team delivering a successful, large-scale product.
• Experience with relational database management systems, message queues, and Public Key Infrastructure.
• Experience working with REST APIs.
• Experience deploying and operating services in containerized environments including Kubernetes or similar platforms.

• Develop key components of the financial exchange platform.
• Share expertise and contribute ideas on product improvements.
• Design, develop, implement, and maintain Java/Kotlin application code.
• Ensure product design meets security, resilience, and confidentiality requirements.
• Conduct software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging.
• Transform requirements into technical stipulations and identify application issues.
• Develop documentation throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Coach and mentor other development team members.
• Participate in on-call support rotations to troubleshoot and resolve production issues ensuring system stability and high availability.
