Data Engineer (Databricks)

Procter & Gamble is a global company producing widely recognized brands, operating in approximately 70 countries. The role is within the Central Europe Backend Engineering team focused on data engineering for shipment, sell-out, and market share data across Central Europe.

• Strong proficiency in PySpark for data processing, transformation, and analysis.
• Proven hands-on experience with Databricks, including cluster management, notebook development, and job scheduling.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex data manipulation and performance tuning.
• Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes with PySpark and Databricks.
• Familiarity with data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and dimensional modeling.
• Understanding of data integration patterns, data lake architectures, and data quality best practices.
• Experience with Databricks Workflow management and pipeline orchestration is a plus.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is an advantage.

• Design and develop high-quality code within Databricks using PySpark notebooks and SQL.
• Utilize AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and BMAD to enhance development productivity.
• Assemble and prepare large, complex datasets meeting business requirements.
• Collaborate with data asset managers, architects, and development leads to align solutions with architectural blueprints.
• Follow and contribute to coding standards and best practices to ensure scalability and reusability.
• Work with front-end teams embracing a "data as a product" mindset.
• Apply sound development practices and adhere to architectural designs throughout development.
• Identify and define infrastructure initiatives to reduce technical debt.
• Participate in Agile Scrum team delivering data engineering projects.
• Provide L3 support for existing data processes, analyzing bugs and incidents.
• Identify, design, and implement continuous process improvements for backend operations.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering.
