SOC Analyst

• Understanding of web security fundamentals including WAF, DDoS, bots, OWASP Top 10.
• Solid basics in HTTP, TCP/IP, and TLS.
• Comfortable analyzing logs and dashboards to spot traffic anomalies.
• Ability to distinguish malicious from legitimate traffic and reason about false positives.
• Clear written English skills for customer-facing reports.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure.
• Willingness to work in shifts or on-call rotations.

Nice to Have:

• Prior SOC L1/L2 or related experience.
• Basic query/scripting skills: SQL-like log queries, regex, and some Python.
• Familiarity with CDN/WAF platforms such as Cloudflare, Akamai, Imperva, F5, Radware.
• Experience with SIEM/alerting tools and PagerDuty-style on-call.
• Security certifications like CompTIA Security+ (plus, not required).

• Monitor WAAP and DDoS activity across customer accounts through dashboards, alerts, and traffic patterns.
• Triage false positives by reviewing flagged traffic and maintaining low noise levels.
• Prepare weekly threat summaries and post-incident DDoS reports in clear English.
• Alert and escalate real attacks impacting customers following escalation runbooks.
• Support customer onboarding by applying standard security configurations based on profiles.
• Follow reaction-time SLA commitments for speed and reporting.
• Contribute to and maintain runbooks for consistent response procedures.
