Engineering Director - Platform

GoMining is an international crypto company reshaping Bitcoin mining through its Liquid Bitcoin Hashrate (LBH) protocol. The company creates digital assets backed by real hashrate, develops DeFi-enabled protocols, and operates proprietary data centers with independent energy sources. Its ecosystem includes Digital Miners, the GOMINING utility token, and the web3 strategy game Miner Wars, serving over 3.7 million users worldwide.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Bitcoin mining site operations or similar high-density data environments.
• Strong understanding of ASIC miner architecture, firmware, and diagnostics.
• Skilled in electrical and low-voltage systems, cabling, and power distribution.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals including IP addressing, switches, and monitoring tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in physically demanding and outdoor conditions.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights or weekends as needed.

Platform Strategy & Architecture:

• Own the technology strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the GoMining Platform.
• Build scalable shared infrastructure for multiple products and teams.
• Define centralized platform capabilities vs. product team responsibilities.
• Drive major architectural and technical decisions.
• Identify scalability and architectural bottlenecks preemptively.
• Balance long-term investments with immediate priorities.

Reliability & Engineering Excellence:

• Own platform reliability, availability, latency, scalability, and operational performance.
• Define and improve SLAs, DORA metrics, engineering performance, and incident management.
• Improve release stability, engineering velocity, and system resilience.
• Lead post-incident improvements to remove systemic issues.
• Maintain high engineering standards without bureaucracy.

Core Platform Capabilities:

• Own shared authentication, authorization, registration, and 2FA infrastructure.
• Develop account controls, user restrictions, and security mechanisms.
• Own integrations and shared backend capabilities across products.
• Develop shared analytics and event infrastructure.
• Support common infrastructure for web and native applications.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Security, and engineering teams on cross-company capabilities.

Product & Business Impact:

• Work with product leaders, GMs, and executives to align technology with business growth.
• Prioritize engineering initiatives by technical risk and business impact.
• Understand effects of platform decisions on revenue, conversion, customer experience, and velocity.
• Balance competing priorities across multiple product teams.
• Make trade-offs between speed, scalability, reliability, security, and business value.
• Measure platform success by its acceleration of the company.

Engineering Leadership:

• Lead and develop the Platform engineering organization.
• Own team structure, hiring, performance, priorities, and execution.
• Build culture of engineering ownership and accountability.
• Stay informed enough to challenge architectural and technical decisions.
• Develop strong technical leaders.
• Raise technical and execution standards across the organization.

AI-First Engineering:

• Actively use AI tools in own work.
• Introduce AI-assisted workflows across engineering, specifications, QA, analytics, operations.
• Identify opportunities for automation of repetitive work.
• Use AI to increase velocity and quality.
• Build a team integrating AI into engineering operations.
