Senior or Mid Backend Software Engineer (m/f/d)

Tradevest is a leading FinTech company offering an innovative platform for securities and cryptocurrency trading, specifically tailored for institutional clients. Tradevest holds BaFin licenses as a securities institution in Germany, ensuring full regulatory compliance. The company operates a development hub in Warsaw, Tradevest Technologies Warsaw, driving the technical innovation behind its products. Through the brand WAWEX, Tradevest operates a state-of-the-art cryptocurrency exchange in Warsaw, providing institutional clients with access to over 75 cryptocurrencies, robust API integrations, and 24/7 availability.

• 3+ years of professional backend experience, including 1+ year in Go.
• Solid understanding of cloud-native design including RESTful APIs and event-driven patterns.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases with knowledge of their appropriate use cases.
• Ability to diagnose performance bottlenecks in distributed systems.
• Ability to work on-site in Warsaw twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday) and remotely otherwise.

Nice to have:

• Exposure to serverless architectures on AWS.
• Knowledge of automated trading, market data, or FIX/crypto exchanges.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or CDK.

• Implement new micro-services and extend existing ones in Go.
• Groom user-story requirements and identify performance/scaling concerns early.
• Write unit, integration, and API tests; review pull requests.
• Tune data models in DynamoDB and PostgreSQL for low-latency, high-throughput workloads.
• Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD and observability improvements.
• Participate in on-call rotation for a highly available fintech system.

Additional tasks for Senior role:

• Design and lead high-scale, low-latency services handling tens of thousands of orders per second.
• Lead architecture reviews, challenge assumptions, and manage technical debt.
• Partner with Product management on roadmap feasibility and effort sizing.
• Mentor less experienced colleagues.
