Senior Software Engineer

• 8+ years of professional experience in IT, data, technology, or related areas within complex organizations.
• Significant practical experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Strategy or related data-focused fields.
• Experience designing, implementing, or improving Data Governance processes, operating models, or frameworks.
• Proven hands-on implementation and delivery experience beyond advisory or strategy roles.
• Strong understanding of organizational processes, operating models, roles, responsibilities, ownership, and accountability.
• Experience with data organizations, data platforms, BI environments, data products, or analytical solutions.
• Understanding of information security, data security, risk, or compliance topics.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with senior management.
• Excellent consulting and communication skills, able to act as an independent expert and trusted advisor.
• Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and build support for change.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking combined with practical hands-on approach.
• Ability to translate Data Governance concepts into concrete processes, responsibilities, and business outcomes.
• Fluent in Polish and English.

• Assess the organization's current approach to data management and identify governance gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Design and help implement a practical Data Governance operating model tailored to the organization's business and structure.
• Develop a Data Governance strategy and roadmap based on maturity, priorities, and constraints.
• Define and establish key governance processes including data ownership, roles and responsibilities, demand management, decision-making, prioritization, stakeholder engagement, and communication.
• Help establish ownership and accountability for data, data products, and analytical solutions.
• Review and improve data-related initiative workflows including initiation, prioritization, funding, and delivery.
• Identify data, information security, and governance risks and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with business, data, IT, security, and management stakeholders to build alignment and ownership.
• Develop and communicate a business case for Data Governance demonstrating its organizational value.
• Support building visibility and organizational support for the data function including communication with senior and executive management.
• Act as a trusted Data Governance subject-matter expert and advisor, providing practical recommendations and challenging existing approaches.
• Help establish foundations for Data Governance sustainability within the organization's operating model.
