Senior Application and Operation Support

Optiveum is the recruitment and contracting party for this position. The role involves joining the IT operations team of a trusted client to manage production environments ensuring their stability and performance. The position is based in Warsaw, Gdynia, or Łódź with a hybrid work mode (25% remote, 75% on-site).

• 5+ years in IT operations, application support (L2/L3), or a similar production-facing role.
• Proven experience owning incidents end-to-end from alert to RCA to prevention.
• 2+ years working within an ITIL framework (incident, problem, and change management).
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments alongside development teams.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• Proficiency with log analysis and alerting tools (Splunk, Apica, Sysdig).
• Experience with observability tooling such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience operating services on Kubernetes and using Linux CLI.
• Familiarity with Jenkins pipelines and proficiency in GIT.
• Experience with relational databases like Oracle and DB2.
• Knowledge of Spring/Hibernate application behavior, Kafka message flows, XML/JSON payloads.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Helm deployments.
• Java/J2EE development background.
• IBM DataStage operational experience.
• Scripting skills in Bash and Python.
• Knowledge of Ansible for configuration management.

• Own the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process for production incidents.
• Diagnose, resolve, and implement preventive measures for issues.
• Continuously monitor service health and detect anomalies.
• Trigger and oversee release deployments via CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot failed deployments and coordinate rollbacks.
• Maintain stability and alignment of Pre-Production and Production environments.
• Identify pain points, propose automation or tooling to reduce toil.
• Improve observability coverage with dashboards, alerts, and log queries.
• Contribute to disaster recovery drills.
• Document operational procedures, known issues, and resolution steps.
• Collaborate with development and platform teams to triage issues and clarify requirements.
