Senior Developer Relations Engineer

HSBC Service Delivery is building app.hsbc, HSBC’s new application development platform, aiming to support up to 30K developers and migrate approximately 80% of bank workloads to the platform over the next 3–4 years.

• Strong hands-on engineering capability with experience delivering templates, automation, reference implementations, onboarding assets, and/or developer tooling.
• Practical understanding of developer experience to make the right path the easiest through standardisation and automation.
• Confidence in writing clear technical content such as documentation, how-tos, and examples for large audiences.
• Solid production mindset including security, resilience, observability, and supportability suitable for a regulated environment.
• Good stakeholder and collaboration skills to work across multiple platform pillars and teams.

• Build and maintain golden-path templates and reusable patterns to accelerate onboarding and reduce variation across teams.
• Deliver worked examples from real HSBC projects that teams can adopt directly.
• Improve self-service onboarding to enable scalability across HSBC.
• Run and support feedback loops (office hours, champions networks, Teams/email channels) and resolve developer pain points either by building fixes or coordinating with relevant teams.
• Write and improve platform documentation, ensuring features ship with necessary documentation.
• Partner with product, engineering, architecture, and risk/control colleagues to ensure guidance is accurate, compliant, and practical.
