Software Engineer

Develocraft is recruiting for a client operating in the financial services sector, focused on rebuilding the data platform behind the UK’s leading automotive marketing products.

• 3-5 years of experience writing production code, primarily in Python.
• Strong skills in modern idiomatic Python, typing, pytest, packaging, dependency management, and concurrency.
• Hands-on production experience with AWS services, particularly queue- and event-driven architectures (SQS, SNS, Lambda, Step Functions).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (or CDK/CloudFormation), reusable modules, remote state management, plan reviews, and drift detection.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, containers, PR-based workflows, automated testing and deployment.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or columnar data warehouses such as Redshift, including query optimization.
• Experience working in brownfield environments, with knowledge of legacy C#/.NET code, and system migration without data loss.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in English for working with UK-based stakeholders.

• Rebuild campaign delivery into robust, scalable services using Python and AWS event-driven architecture (SQS, SES, Lambda).
• Engineer data pipelines ensuring consent management, suppression logic, and data quality.
• Redesign multi-tenant data models safely for live client data.
• Define and manage infrastructure with Terraform, including reusable modules and state management.
• Deliver automated CI/CD pipelines covering application code and database schemas with testing and rollback mechanisms.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools (Claude) for code reviews, test generation, debugging, and documentation.
