RPG/Websphere developer/Supervisor - Remote Work Type

Directio is a global IT services company providing cloud-based and mobile applications support, working with FMCG, retail, automotive, and SaaS clients. The developer will join a project for a US client, working on business-critical applications running on IBM i (AS/400) and WebSphere platforms.

• Strong professional experience in RPG development on IBM i (AS/400), including designing, coding, testing, and maintaining business applications
• Hands-on experience with WebSphere or similar application server technologies, including deployment, configuration, and performance tuning
• Experience supervising or mentoring technical teams, including task coordination and review of deliverables
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL
• Experience integrating legacy systems with web-based or service-based applications
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), change management, and version control tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex application and system issues
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders
• Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Ability to prepare and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and solution designs
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Availability to work full-time on-site in Follansbee, West Virginia, USA

• Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining business applications using RPG on IBM i (AS/400)

• Supervising and mentoring a small development team, coordinating workloads, reviewing deliverables, and supporting professional development
• Troubleshooting application and system issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing solutions
• Implementing enhancements and improvements to existing business-critical applications
• Collaborating with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Reviewing code and promoting software development best practices
• Participating in release and change management activities
• Monitoring and supporting integrations between legacy systems and web or service-based applications
• Contributing to modernization initiatives for legacy and web-based applications
• Preparing and maintaining technical documentation including specifications, processes, and solution designs

Availability to work in the US time zone until approximately 6:00–7:00 PM Polish time, and willingness to travel occasionally to the US for business purposes. Availability to work full-time on-site in Follansbee, West Virginia, USA.
