RPG/WebSphere Developer/Supervisor

Directio is a global IT services company operating in Poland, the Philippines, Mexico, and the USA. It provides consulting, coding, testing, deployment, and management of mainly cloud-based and mobile applications for clients in the FMCG, retail, automotive, and SaaS sectors.

• Strong professional experience in RPG development on IBM i (AS/400), including design, coding, testing, and maintenance
• Hands-on experience with WebSphere or similar application server technologies including deployment, configuration, and performance tuning
• Experience supervising or mentoring technical teams, including task coordination and technical deliverables review
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL
• Experience integrating legacy systems with web-based or service-based applications
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), change management, and version control tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex application and system issues
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with technical teams and business stakeholders
• Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Ability to prepare and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and solution designs
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Availability to work full-time on-site in Follansbee, West Virginia, USA

• Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining business applications using RPG on IBM i (AS/400)
• Working with WebSphere and related application server technologies including deployment, configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization
• Supervising and mentoring a small development team, coordinating workloads, reviewing deliverables, and supporting professional development
• Troubleshooting application and system issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing solutions to ensure stability and reliability
• Implementing enhancements to existing business-critical applications
• Collaborating with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Reviewing code and promoting software development best practices
• Participating in release and change management activities
• Monitoring and supporting integrations between legacy systems and web or service-based applications
• Contributing to modernization initiatives across legacy and web-based applications
• Preparing and maintaining technical documentation including system specifications, processes, and solution designs

Availability to work in the US time zone until approximately 6:00–7:00 PM Polish time and willingness to travel occasionally to the US for business purposes. Availability to work full-time on-site in Follansbee, West Virginia, USA.
