RPG WebSphere Developer - Supervisor

Directio is a global IT services company consulting, coding, testing, deploying, and managing mainly cloud-based and mobile applications. They support clients in FMCG, retail, automotive, and SaaS sectors and operate from offices in Poland, the Philippines, Mexico, and the USA.

• Strong professional experience in RPG development on IBM i (AS/400)
• Hands-on experience with WebSphere or similar application server technologies including deployment, configuration, and performance tuning
• Experience supervising or mentoring technical teams including task coordination and review of deliverables
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL
• Experience integrating legacy systems with web-based or service-based applications
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), change management, and version control tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex application and system issues
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with technical teams and business stakeholders
• Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Ability to prepare and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and solution designs
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent practical experience

• Experience participating in legacy system modernization initiatives
• Experience supporting business-critical applications and complex system integrations

• Design, develop, test, and maintain business applications using RPG on IBM i (AS/400)
• Work with WebSphere and related application server technologies including deployment, configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization
• Supervise and mentor a small development team, coordinate workloads, review deliverables, and support professional development
• Troubleshoot application and system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to ensure system stability and reliability
• Implement enhancements and improvements to existing business-critical applications
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
• Review code and promote software development best practices across the team
• Participate in release and change management activities to ensure smooth deployment of system changes
• Monitor and support integrations between legacy systems and web or service-based applications
• Contribute to modernization initiatives across legacy and web-based applications
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation including system specifications, processes, and solution designs
• Availability to work in the US time zone until approximately 6:00–7:00 PM Polish time and willingness to travel occasionally to the US for business purposes
