Engineering Manager

Gcore is a global provider of infrastructure and software solutions for AI, cloud, network, and security. • Minimum four years leading software engineering teams with experience managing tech leads.
• Production experience with internet infrastructure such as CDN, DNS, reverse proxies, or large-scale distributed systems.
• Ability to reason independently about HTTP caching, nginx behavior, TLS, SNI, and anycast routing.
• Experience owning incident response and follow-through.
• Ability to manage multiple teams and provide clear rationale when declining stakeholder requests.
• Experience working with distributed teams across European and Asian time zones.

Nice to have:

• Proficiency in C, Rust, Go, Python for code review.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ClickHouse, and distributed tracing.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and bare-metal fleet operations.
• Experience at a CDN, DNS, cloud provider, or network operator.
• Experience acting as product owner for platform work.

• Lead four engineering teams covering control plane, core edge and proxy layer, analytics and logging platform, and DNS and traffic management.
• Own delivery on a two-week cadence including planning, commitments, and reporting.
• Set and defend technical priorities in coordination with Product, Support, and Maintenance.
• Own incident and post-incident processes including severity calls and root-cause analysis.
• Run on-call rotation and maintain clear escalation paths.
• Develop engineers and tech leads through one-to-ones, feedback, growth planning, and hiring.
• Improve departmental processes including planning, prioritisation, quality standards, documentation, and service ownership.
• Ensure adoption of AI tools and approaches.
