Machine Learning Engineer

VirtusLab is a leading European software consulting and engineering company with a mission to craft clean code and practical solutions. The project involves driving business innovation with production-ready machine learning pipelines cooperating closely with a major UK retailer’s data science team on pricing optimization solutions. The team operates in a hybrid-cloud environment, delivering APIs for pricing class problems across multiple business domains.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning engineering.
• Strong proficiency in writing high-quality Python code.
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow.
• Knowledge of Spark or other distributed data processing tools.
• Experience with the Kubernetes ecosystem.
• Advanced expertise in Azure and Docker.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within an engineering team and contribute to design processes.
• Good command of English (B2/C1).
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Proactive and responsible approach with strategic perspective.
• Availability to work in a hybrid model occasionally.

• Implement the end-to-end Machine Learning Lifecycle including data preparation, automated deployment, and continuous monitoring of data and models in production.
• Develop PySpark data pipelines for loading and transforming large data sets to produce features for modeling and analytics.
• Provision cloud resources for model development in AzureML using Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• Select optimal architectural patterns to solve business problems.
• Build robust and maintainable code both in the cloud and on-premises to deliver models quickly and reliably to production.
• Establish a mature DevOps culture and develop reusable solutions across multiple business domains.
