Data Modeler

Clurgo is a company created by developers for developers. The teams cover a full spectrum of competencies including software development, infrastructure, analysis, testing, and strategic product and process management. They execute diverse IT projects for clients across multiple industries, focusing on good programming practices and work-life balance. The project is for a UK banking client and involves migration and modernization of reporting and analytical environments from Qlik Sense and Tableau to Apache Superset, structured in six phases from discovery to full migration and knowledge transfer.

• Minimum 5 years of commercial experience as a Data Modeler, Data Architect, or Data Analyst with strong focus on data modeling
• Practical experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• Proficient with erwin Data Modeler and/or SAP PowerDesigner
• Strong understanding of relational database design and normalization principles
• Experience designing enterprise-scale data models for analytics, reporting, and operational systems
• Ability to analyze and document existing data structures, relationships, and business rules
• Experience creating and maintaining data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and full model documentation
• Very strong SQL skills and deep understanding of database structures
• Experience collaborating with key stakeholders, BI teams, and data engineers to translate business requirements into technical models
• Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, and Data Lineage concepts

Nice to have:

• Experience modeling data for BI and analytical platforms such as Apache Superset, Tableau, QlikView, or Qlik Sense
• Familiarity with data warehouse design methodologies (e.g., Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault)
• Experience designing semantic layers
• Participation in large-scale data migration or system transformation programs
• Knowledge of cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes and modern data architectures
• Understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) concepts
• Experience with metadata management and enterprise architecture tools

Data modeling and migration:

• Design coherent conceptual, logical, and physical data models for transactional and analytical systems
• Participate in the full 6-phase migration cycle of analytical systems from discovery to production deployment
• Analyze and modernize legacy data models and structures for new tools like Apache Superset

Documentation and collaboration:

• Create and maintain data dictionaries, data mapping, and metadata repositories
• Work actively with data engineers, BI analysts, and business stakeholders using Agile methods
• Verify model compliance with business rules and standards for data quality, security, and consistency
