Senior Frontend Engineer, Launchpad

The Launchpad Team within the Experience Platform organization builds the core frontend infrastructure and developer tooling powering all web experiences across Box.

• 5+ years of software engineering experience designing and operating production-grade web applications, component libraries, or frontend infrastructure.
• Deep hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, or AI developer assistants for code generation, automated refactoring, or workflow automation.
• Experience designing intelligent AI integration pipelines solving platform or developer tooling challenges.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (ESNext), and React with modern React patterns.
• Knowledge of modern CSS architectures including CSS Modules, Design Tokens, CSS variables/custom properties, styling isolation/scoping, and animation patterns.
• Experience with monorepos (Nx, Turborepo, Yarn/pnpm workspaces), module bundling (Webpack, Rollup, Vite, Module Federation), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Focus on web accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), cross-browser compatibility, web performance vitals, and automated testing.
• Excellent English communication skills for technical articulation, architectural specs writing (RFCs), and stakeholder engagement.

• Expand and maintain high-throughput internationalization/localization workflows including Translation Management System integrations, ICU/CLDR formatters, and dynamic locale-switching.
• Own and modernize Box's core UI design system establishing standards for styling isolation and design token theming.
• Integrate AI tools, coding agents, LLM-assisted migration workflows, and intelligent assistants to boost developer productivity.
• Lead evolution of frontend build pipelines and package management (Nx, Yarn 4, Webpack/Vite, CI/CD) ensuring resilient developer workflows.
• Collaborate with Product Management, UX Design Systems, Architecture SIGs, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable initiatives.
• Mentor peers, participate in architectural design reviews (RFCs/TDDs), and promote a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
