Qt Bridge for Rust lets developers build Qt Quick / QML user interfaces with a pure-Rust backend without needing C++. The library is built on CXX and CXX-Qt for the C++/Qt interop layer. The team has deep Qt platform expertise including the meta-object system, C++/QML engine internals, and code generation.
Wymagania
- Senior-level Rust experience in production, including ownership/borrowing, Rc/RefCell/Weak, unsafe code, Pin, and lifetime-parameterized APIs
- Experience with Rust ↔ C++ FFI, ideally using cxx, for safe wrappers over C++ lifetimes
- Procedural macro development experience with syn, quote, and proc-macro2 and good compile-error diagnostics
- Experience designing and stabilizing a public library API using idiomatic Rust, semver, and deprecation practices
- Cross-platform Rust build engineering experience (build.rs, linking native libraries on Linux, MSVC, macOS)
- Strong testing and quality discipline including automated tests, cargo fmt/clippy, documented safety arguments, and rustdoc on public API
- Comfortable with threat modeling and security review for systems-level, memory-unsafe-adjacent code
- Working knowledge of Qt 6 features and enough C++17 to understand and modify the bridge's C++ layer
- Experience with Gerrit-style code review workflows
- Professional written and spoken English
Nice to have:
- Prior contributions to Qt, CXX-Qt, qmetaobject-rs, or similar bindings
- QML/Qt Quick application development experience
- Published crates on crates.io
- Familiarity with rcc, Qt resource handling, or QML debug/preview protocols
- Async Rust (tokio) integrated with native event loops
- Existing Qt Account / Qt Contributor Licence Agreement
Obowiązki

- Participate in structured threat analysis and security review of the Rust/C++ FFI surface
- Maintain build and testing across Linux, MSVC, and macOS
- Conduct code reviews via Gerrit and communicate daily with the team
- Keep Jira issues current and participate in weekly sync calls
Exclusions:
- No changes to Qt itself (qtbase, qtdeclarative)

- No end-user or community support
Benefity
- B2B project-based cooperation
- Duration: at least 6 months, with option to extend
- Fully remote work
