Finance Officer (Try N Hire)

One of our clients is looking for a Finance Officer to join their office in Copenhagen. The position is based in Copenhagen, with responsibilities extending across the Nordics.

• Qualified accountant with strong academics and broad commercial finance skills
• Fluent in Danish and English
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an international manufacturing or costing-based business
• Proven track record of developing high-quality financial processes and transforming finance functions
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to build strong relationships across all levels
• Credibility to positively challenge current practices and drive financial transformation
• Strong technical, analytical abilities combined with commercial pragmatism
• Experience delivering work to tight deadlines
• Experience with SAP and ERP systems preferred
• Ability to effectively work with a Shared Service Centre is advantageous

Overall responsibility:

• Board member
• Maintaining accounting according to group and local policies and procedures
• Ensuring integrity and accuracy of all financial systems, statements, and reports
• Managing external annual audits and production of annual financial statements
• Coordinating internal audits and monitoring completion of action list

Business controlling:

• Analyzing, communicating, and explaining financial reports to senior management regularly
• Monitoring and analyzing margins
• Managing all aspects of sales and commercial products
• Managing overall overhead costs according to budget or forecasts
• Managing working capital
• Managing credit control, credit risk, and credit management decisions
• Approving payment terms for sales according to group guidelines
• Supporting and driving strategic and operational efficiency
• Supporting managing director in adherence to company objectives and group strategy
• Supporting other department managers to ensure finance objectives are included in business decisions

Budgeting and forecasting:

• Ensuring accurate budgeting and forecasting according to group and local deadlines

Accounting:

• Ensuring financial reporting meets group and local timing deadlines
• Maintaining statutory company and branch documents per legal requirements
• Managing assets and liabilities according to budget and optimization plans
• Monitoring and approving capex requests

Treasury, cash flow:

• Managing banking and cash management systems with proper internal controls
• Maintaining banking relationships
• Responsible for cash flow planning and resource optimization

Customer financing:

• Managing customer financing requests and applications

Taxation:

• Acting as company secretary/director for all taxation requirements
• Ensuring compliance with local taxation laws
• Ensuring accurate submission of tax returns

Projects:

• Leading and implementing key transformation projects in the Nordics
• Supporting ad hoc projects as needed

Warehouse and logistics:

• Overall responsibility for warehouse in Greater Copenhagen Area
• Ensuring safety rules comply with local requirements
• Managing procurement and warehouse personnel
• Maintaining up-to-date agreements with local transporters
• Ensuring stock levels align with HQ's levels

The position is a Try N Hire contract with the first six months on a freelance contract and possibility of permanent employment after six months. This position is based in Copenhagen with responsibilities extending across the Nordics.
