Gameplay Programmer (Unreal)

Far From Home is an independent AA+ game studio specializing in action games with strong narrative elements. Their first self-published game, Forever Skies, released in 2025, is a first-person post-apocalyptic survival game and has sold over 600,000 copies. The studio has over 20 team members and emphasizes transparent communication and close collaboration with players and the community.

• Experience as a Gameplay Programmer in the game development industry with at least one released title
• Practical knowledge of UE 5 and Blueprints
• Experience coding network features in UE 5
• Practical knowledge of C++
• Practical knowledge of Gameplay Ability System
• Understanding of player needs when designing gameplay mechanics
• Good communication skills
• Mature and independent work approach

Nice to have:

• Ability to build and maintain engine tools and compilation pipelines
• Experience with game modding (reverse engineering, code injection)
• Interest in gaming market trends and new technologies
• Ability to find and draw on references from other titles
• Ability to work with objectives and high-level vision
• Independency in creating tasks based on vision

• Develop gameplay mechanics, features, systems, and tools in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team
• Prototype gameplay ideas quickly
• Ensure code quality with focus on readability, robustness, and performance
• Approach game development with a broad perspective rather than tight specialization
