Business Intelligence Technical Lead

Scalo provides software projects and supports partners in business development using a wide range of IT services including technological consultancy, software development, embedded systems, cloud solutions, data management, and dedicated project teams.

• Very good practical knowledge of Power BI, Power BI Service, and semantic models
• Good knowledge of DAX language and optimization principles for data models and reports
• Experience in implementing and maintaining production Power BI solutions including security and access management
• Very good knowledge of SQL and practical experience with dbt
• Experience working with Snowflake or another cloud data platform
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling and designing shared KPIs and reusable data models
• Ability to split business logic consciously between data and reporting layers
• Experience in independently designing and implementing BI solutions
• Practical knowledge of Git, code review, CI/CD, and development, testing, and deployment processes
• Experience using APIs and scripting tools such as Python or PowerShell
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric components including Power BI, Semantic Models, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Direct Lake, and Pipelines
• Experience with Airflow or similar data orchestration tools
• Knowledge of Liquibase or similar database change management tools
• Experience with AI-assisted development and tools supporting developer services
• Knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP) and its practical applications
• Ability to safely use AI agents for process automation
• Ability to create clear and useful Power BI reports and dashboards
• Knowledge of data visualization principles and analytical solution design
• Experience supporting other specialists and sharing technical knowledge
• Self-reliance, proactivity, and responsibility for delivered solution quality
• Ability to cooperate with business stakeholders, Data Engineering teams, and international teams
• Proficiency in English enabling smooth communication in an international environment

• Experience automating Power BI deployments and using Power BI/Fabric APIs

• Designing and developing Business Intelligence solutions using Power BI, dbt, Snowflake, Airflow, and Microsoft Fabric
• Creating and evolving semantic models, reports, and Power BI dashboards
• Building data models in dbt and Snowflake and implementing business logic in the data architecture layer
• Designing end-to-end solutions covering data and reporting layers
• Optimizing data models, SQL queries, reports, and supporting production issue resolution
• Providing technical support to the development team on complex technical topics
• Conducting review of data models, code, and designed solutions
• Mentoring specialists and developing standards and good practices in BI
• Identifying possibilities for simplification, optimization, and refactoring of existing solutions
• Automating development, testing, deployment, and monitoring processes
• Utilizing APIs, scripts, CI/CD, and AI tools supporting service delivery
• Collaborating with international and central Data/BI teams on common models, components, and standards
• Adapting global solutions to local business needs
• Actively participating in architecture development for centralizing business logic and KPIs in Snowflake/dbt while maintaining Power BI as semantic and reporting layer
• Collaborating remotely with teams in multiple countries
