Senior Java Developer with Kafka

The role supports a client in the insurance industry engaged in a strategic transformation program building a modern ecosystem for claims and benefits handling based on data, automation, AI, and workflow processes.

• Good knowledge of Java (>5 years).
• Good knowledge of Kafka (>3 years).
• Good knowledge of Spring, Hibernate, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud (>5 years).
• Good knowledge of SQL (>5 years).
• Familiarity with quality assurance concepts including unit testing frameworks (junit, testng, spock), integration testing (testcontainers, wiremock).
• Knowledge of Functional Programming and Object-Oriented Programming paradigms.
• Familiarity with application containerization.
• Knowledge of process engines and BPMN notation.
• Understanding of resilience patterns and mechanisms in distributed systems.
• Knowledge of Angular and experience in frontend application development.
• Ability to adopt AI tools in software development processes.
• Familiarity with performance diagnostics tools.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge and practical experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Experience using AI agents and Agentic AI tools in software development.
• Experience with cloud solutions.

• Designing, developing, and maintaining solutions supporting business processes in a microservice architecture.
• Creating and integrating applications based on Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Angular, and/or React ensuring high quality, performance, and resilience.
• Collaborating with architects, analysts, and business owners in BPMN process implementation.
• Actively utilizing AI tools to support the software development process.
