Regular/Senior UX Designer

This role is within Qt's Design Tools Unit (DTU), focusing on UX design for complex design tooling at the intersection of design and engineering. The products serve designers and developers building production Qt applications, targeting users with deep domain knowledge.

• Two or more years of UX design experience with a portfolio of flows, wireframes, and interaction design (Regular level).
• Comfortable using Figma.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and communicate design decisions clearly.
• Exposure to design or development tooling is an advantage.
• Five or more years of UX design experience with ownership of complex product surfaces (Senior level).
• Ability to carry design problems from research through delivery and articulate decisions.
• Professional standard proficiency in Figma.
• Understanding of the designer–developer workflow and designing for technically sophisticated users.
• Experience in design tooling, developer tools, or B2B software is strongly preferred.
• Background working with larger product teams managing dependencies is relevant for Senior level.

Main responsibilities:

• Interaction and flow design for product surfaces, including core features and detailed interaction states.
• Prototyping flows to test assumptions and gather early user feedback.
• Collaborative work with engineers through the full development lifecycle to maintain design intent.
• Using DTU's shared design system appropriately and escalating gaps.
• Collaborating with visual design roles to maintain clear boundaries of responsibilities.

Senior track additions:

• Ownership of entire product surfaces or major features, overseeing UX end-to-end.
• Contributing to product strategy by influencing product direction and prioritization.
• Planning and executing user research as an integral design input.
• Actively contributing to the design system by identifying needed interaction pattern support.
• Applying systemic thinking to identify and manage dependencies across product areas.
