Senior Product Engineer

Knapsack is the product company behind Knapsack Pro, a developer-tool that helps engineers optimize CI test runs since 2014. We are a small team located in Kraków, Poland, mostly working remotely but occasionally meeting in person.

• Seven or more years of professional experience, mainly as a Product/DevTool Engineer.
• Proficiency in crafting pragmatic and performant code and taking smart shortcuts when appropriate.
• Experience designing public APIs, dev-tools, and user experiences.
• Data-driven skills to evaluate multiple alternatives and converge on optimal solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to deliver projects in an experiment-oriented environment.
• Ability to self-direct and manage complex projects.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.
• Preferably located in Kraków, Poland.

• Take ownership and responsibility for the developed product.
• Interact on the frontline with users to ensure their needs are fulfilled.
• Respond to support tickets and participate in Pager Duty.
• Develop complex projects from ideation, scoping to execution and maintenance.

Recent projects:

• Development of PREDICT feature.
• Implementation of Retry-only-Failures.
• Rewrite of the API to support tens of millions of test batches per day.
• Support for Vitest and Playwright.
• Creation and analysis of analytics to evaluate alternative pricing models.
