Senior Director Product Security

Gainsight is a company building an AI-powered retention engine and customer success platform used by over 2,000 companies. Their CustomerOS platform orchestrates the customer journey from onboarding to outcomes to advocacy and incorporates AI agents to drive customer success.

• 15+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Security Engineering, Application Security, or Product Security, including at least 8 years leading security organizations
• Proven experience building/scaling Product Security programs in modern SaaS or cloud-native environments
• Deep expertise in Secure SDLC, Secure by Design, threat modeling, security architecture, application security, API security, modern authentication and authorization frameworks
• Partnership experience with Engineering and Product leadership to influence architecture, design, and security strategy
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, Kubernetes, containers, and multi-tenant SaaS platforms
• Experience driving organization-wide vulnerability management and product risk remediation programs
• Ability to communicate technical risk to executive leadership and align cross-functional teams
• Experience building, mentoring, and leading high-performing Product Security teams

Nice to have:

• Experience securing AI/GenAI-powered products and platforms
• Hands-on software engineering background with distributed systems experience
• Experience implementing security automation within modern CI/CD environments
• Experience leading globally distributed Product Security teams
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, or GIAC certifications

• Mature the application security program
• Increase test coverage on assets monitored by SAST, DAST, SCA, and container scanning tools
• Monitor security gates passed/failed to block deployments due to high-severity policy violations
• Manage a global team of product security engineers

This role may require occasional travel (up to 10-25%) for team meetings, training, or company events.
