• Strong software engineering experience with production Python or Java.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems in data processing and storage.
• Proven data engineering expertise with pipelines, data platforms, warehouses/lakes, and data modeling.
• Independent decision-making capability on architectural matters with long-term impact.
• Strong ownership mindset to proactively identify and solve problems.
• High standards for performance, reliability, cost, data quality, and engineering discipline.
• Clear communication in both Polish and English.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.

• Own the technical direction of the data platform and make architectural decisions.
• Stay hands-on by designing systems, writing production code, and reviewing implementations.
• Drive initiatives from problem identification to production deployment.
• Optimize performance and cost across data models, storage, processing, and querying.
• Establish clear data contracts, schemas, ownership, documentation, standards, and quality practices.
• Solve distributed systems challenges including consistency, fault tolerance, schema evolution, streaming, storage, scalability, and performance.
• Lead and grow the team through technical direction, reviews, mentorship, and 1:1 meetings.
