Senior Data Architect

SwingDev—a hippo company is the Polish branch of a fast-growing InsurTech product company – Hippo Insurance. The company focuses on making home insurance smarter and more proactive through technology and digital products.

• 8+ years hands-on experience building large-scale data platforms.
• Deep expertise with BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, and Fivetran or similar tech stack.
• Ability to prototype fast in cloud environments and defend architectural choices with senior engineers.
• Strong ownership mindset.
• Great command of English and Polish (both written & spoken).
• Flexibility for occasional evening meetings due to PL-US teams collaboration.

Nice to have:

• Experience from organizations with mature architecture teams or from insurance/regulated industries.
• Background with machine learning or agentic/AI platforms.

• Shape high-level data architecture and platform strategy for analytics, machine learning, and agentic systems.
• Design and prototype scalable lakehouse environments with medallion architecture in real cloud and cluster setups.
• Establish practical governance, observability, and cataloging with a data mesh approach.
• Prototype complex solutions and drive technical decisions.
