Senior Windows Engineer

Sopra Steria is one of the largest players in the tech industry in Europe, specializing in consulting, digital services and software development. The Polish Global Delivery Center in Katowice operates since 2007 with around 1,000 specialists. The Digital Platform Services department focuses on cloud, operating systems, virtualization, databases, backup, storage, networking and security.

• Strong expertise in planning, deploying, and maintaining Windows Server environments
• Experience troubleshooting advanced issues with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
• Hands-on with patching, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management
• Experience with on-prem and hybrid infrastructure, including virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Solid understanding of security best practices, system hardening, and compliance
• Practical experience with automation using PowerShell (preferably DSC or IaC tools)
• Familiarity with ITIL processes
• Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Identity and Access Administrator, ITIL® 4 Foundation
• English B2 level
• Structured and disciplined operational approach
• Customer-oriented with focus on stability and user experience
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Proactive in identifying performance and capacity improvements
• Willingness for occasional business trips abroad and regular onsite presence in Katowice

• Experience with Zabbix and ServiceNow
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
• Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900)

• Design, implement, and maintain Windows Server environments following best practices
• Administer and troubleshoot core Windows services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO) with root cause analysis
• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support within ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management)
• Execute patching, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management while maintaining system stability
• Monitor, optimize, and secure infrastructure using enterprise tools
• Collaborate with teams and automate operational tasks using scripting and IaC tools

The position is only open to candidates located in the Silesian area willing to commute to the Katowice office.
