SOC Analyst (WAAP)

• Understanding of web security fundamentals including WAF, DDoS, bots, and OWASP Top 10.
• Solid basics in HTTP, TCP/IP, and TLS protocols.
• Comfortable analyzing logs and dashboards, capable of spotting traffic anomalies.
• Ability to distinguish malicious traffic from legitimate traffic and reason about false positives.
• Clear written English skills for customer-facing reports.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and calm under incident pressure.
• Willingness to work in shifts/on-call rotation.

Nice to Have:

• Prior SOC L1/L2 or related experience.
• Basic query/scripting skills, including SQL-like log queries, regex, and some Python.
• Familiarity with CDN/WAF platforms such as Cloudflare, Akamai, Imperva, F5, Radware.
• Exposure to SIEM/alerting tools and PagerDuty-style on-call processes.
• Security certifications like CompTIA Security+.

• Monitor WAAP and DDoS activity across customer accounts, including dashboards, alerts, and traffic patterns.
• Triage false positives by reviewing traffic flagged by security policies to reduce noise for customers.
• Prepare weekly threat summaries and post-incident DDoS reports in clear English.
• Alert and escalate real attacks impacting customers to engineering or support teams following escalation runbooks.
• Support customer onboarding by applying standard security configurations based on their profiles.
• Follow reaction-time SLAs ensuring prompt responses and clear post-incident reporting.
• Contribute to and maintain operational runbooks for consistent and repeatable responses.
