Staff I Software Engineer

BlackLine is a technology-based company focused on Finance Automation. This position is for the founding Staff Engineer of a new Engineering Hub in Krakow, offering a foundational role with leadership responsibilities in shaping engineering culture and architectural direction.

• Expertise in AI-driven development tools (Cursor, Claude) to improve engineering velocity and quality.
• Extensive experience in architecting, building, and deploying production-grade, scalable, and secure SaaS applications.
• Strong proficiency in C# with deep knowledge of software architecture, data structures, and algorithms.
• Proven technical leadership in driving complex, cross-functional projects from ambiguous requirements to launch.
• Strong foundation in modern development practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Familiarity with modern frameworks and libraries relevant to enterprise application development.

Nice to have:

• Ability to translate complex business problems into simple technical solutions.
• Experience in regulated industries such as finance or accounting.
• Contributions to open-source projects or interest in new development paradigms.
• Knowledge of cloud-native technologies on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Understanding of Responsible AI principles applied in software development.

• Lead technical architecture for scalable, robust, and maintainable solutions on the core SaaS platform.
• Utilize AI-driven development tools (e.g., Cursor, Codex, Claude) to accelerate design, coding, and testing.
• Own complex feature development from concept to production with clean, performant, and well-tested code.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers on requirements and technical roadmaps.
• Engineer for enterprise-scale focusing on performance, reliability, low latency, and security.
• Mentor and elevate engineering team through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and best practices.
