Senior Software Engineer

BlackLine Sp. Z.o.o. (Poland) is a technology-based company focused on Finance Automation. The role involves building the next generation of BlackLine applications and data platforms with a focus on SAP ERP components, especially SAP module FI and CO as well as financial transactions in SD and MM domains.

• Minimum 8 years experience with SAP ABAP programming.
• Bachelor or Master degree in Math, BE/B.Tech, ME/M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience with S/4HANA and ECC6.0 environments and development platforms.
• Fluent in ABAP OO programming, preferably using Eclipse/ADT.
• Knowledge of enterprise product development concepts like SOLID and Responsibility Driven Design.
• Familiarity with service-model driven architecture.
• Hands-on experience with ABAP Unit Testing.
• Proficient in code reorganization and refactoring.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Capable of writing technical documentation including UML.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Proactive, solution-driven, adaptable team player with focus on results and value delivery.
• Passion for engineering excellence through automation, unit testing, and process improvements.

• Background or interest in FinTech or Financial services domain.
• Ability to assist support department with customer incidents.
• Help Product Owners define business functions and work breakdown.

• Provide technical expertise in requirements analysis, design, effort estimation, development, testing, and delivery of scalable software.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to translate needs into functional and technical requirements.
• Participate actively in technical design and architecture discussions, driving technical decisions and trade-offs.
• Estimate project scope and deliver on commitments.
• Design, develop, unit test, optimize, scale, maintain, and improve backend services.
• Develop functional and technical specifications and test plans.
• Participate hands-on in product component implementation.
• Mentor and coach colleagues, lead code reviews, and guide on complex design issues.
• Research, test, benchmark, and evaluate new tools and technologies for product development.
• Maintain software quality standards, writing clean, testable, maintainable, and secure code.
• Identify issues or opportunities and advocate or effect changes.
• Perform critical maintenance, deployment, and release support, including occasional off-hours support.
• Advancement to programming languages beyond SAP ABAP is possible.
