Staff I Software Engineer

• Minimum 8 years of experience with SAP ABAP programming and planning.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proficient in development on SAP S/4HANA 2022+ and ECC 6.0 platforms.
• Hands-on experience with SAP Finance (FI) module and related business processes.
• Experience with ABAP Development Tools (ADT) in Eclipse for cloud development.
• Advanced knowledge of ABAP Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Strong understanding of MVC architecture and adherence to SOLID principles.
• Practical experience with design patterns in ABAP development.
• Skilled in developing and optimizing Core Data Services (CDS) views and extensibility options.
• Knowledge of HANA Query Analyzer usage.
• Proficient in classic enhancement techniques (BDC, User Exits, BAdIs) and transitioning to SAP Clean Core standards.
• Experience with SAP web services configuration, consumption, and testing (e.g., with Postman).
• Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and optimizing financial business processes.
• Proactive and eager to continuously learn new SAP technologies and methodologies.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and SAP BTP ABAP Environment (Steampunk).
• Proficiency in ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) including behavior and service definitions.
• Experience with automated testing using languages like C# and Selenium.
• Acquaintance with ABAP for FI, Transaction clearing, Special Ledger postings (FISL), and Contract Accounting posting (FICA).
• Experience with Fiori UI development.

• Demonstrate strong proficiency in ABAP technology.
• Continuously learn and adapt to evolving SAP stacks, including ABAP for Cloud.
• Provide technical expertise in requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and delivery.
• Adhere to architectural guidelines; develop, test, troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain software applications.
• Execute development tasks including manual and ABAP Unit tests.
• Perform critical maintenance, deployment, and release support activities, including off-hours support.
• Serve as primary technical contact for the product team.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to translate needs into requirements.
• Estimate project scope and timelines ensuring delivery commitments.
• Develop comprehensive functional and technical specifications, test plans, and documentation.
• Maintain high standards of software quality, writing clean, testable, maintainable, and secure code.
• Mentor junior developers and share best practices.
• Serve as Scrum Master overseeing team activities and agile ceremonies.
• Conduct peer code reviews for quality and knowledge sharing.
• Identify and address technical issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation including UML diagrams.
• Provide support to customers, including outside regular business hours when needed.
