Solution Architect

The role is within the Digital & Technology (D&T) function and linked to the Commercial domain, focusing on Salesforce-centred commercial ecosystem solutions.

Essential:

• Demonstrated experience as a Solution Architect in Digital/Technology with hands-on system design capability.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce capabilities, architecture, and ecosystem.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into implementable solution architectures and guide delivery teams.
• Understanding of integration patterns, APIs, and data flows in enterprise environments.
• Experience embedding security, privacy, and compliance requirements into solution designs.
• Skills in logical architecture, integration, data flows, and non-functional design.
• Ability to provide pragmatic "minimum viable architecture" guidance that accelerates delivery.
• Clear communication and stakeholder management across Product, Engineering, and Delivery teams.
• Structured problem solving and handling ambiguity and trade-offs.

Preferred:

• Experience designing Commercial solutions in CRM/customer engagement ecosystems aligned to Salesforce-centric strategies.
• Experience operating within enterprise architecture standards and governance models at scale.

Solution Architecture & Design (Commercial):

• Produce solution designs covering functional and non-functional requirements like scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
• Translate business requirements into architecture blueprints, logical designs, and integration patterns for engineering teams.
• Ensure designs align with Commercial domain priorities including Sales, Marketing, Trade Promotion, Customer Engagement, and Commercial Analytics.

Salesforce-Aligned Solution Design:

• Work within Salesforce-centred commercial architecture strategies.
• Partner with Salesforce platform specialists and delivery teams to ensure consistent configuration patterns, integration approaches, and data models.

Integration, Data & Cross-Domain Alignment:

• Design seamless integrations between Commercial solutions and adjacent enterprise domains (ERP/finance, supply chain, data platforms).
• Define APIs, middleware patterns, and data flows supporting secure, reliable end-to-end processes and reporting.

Architecture Governance & Delivery Assurance:

• Provide governance through design reviews and build alignment, supporting removal of architectural blockers.
• Document architecture decisions, patterns, and trade-offs for delivery teams.
• Collaborate with Commercial Domain Architect to manage risks, technical debt, and dependencies.

Security, Privacy & Compliance by Design:

• Embed security and privacy requirements aligned with organizational standards and regulatory needs.
• Ensure data handling and integration patterns meet control, auditability, and privacy requirements.

Standardisation, Reuse & Simplification:

• Promote reuse of reference architectures to reduce bespoke development and improve maintainability.
• Identify duplication and tool sprawl, recommending simplified architectures aligned with strategic platforms.

Stakeholder & Community Collaboration:

• Act as a bridge between Product, Engineering, Data, Security, and Delivery teams.
• Contribute to architecture communities of practice to share learnings and improve standards.
