Senior SAP Cloud Engineer

Education / Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field.
• Experience leading large to enterprise-level project teams and making strategic technical decisions.
• Proven track record designing and implementing reliable enterprise platform capabilities.
• Experience estimating complex engineering resources, dependencies, and timelines.
• Experience with SAP BTP or comparable enterprise cloud platforms.

Technical / Business Skills:

• Advanced expertise in platform, compute and storage, network management, ERP technology management, HPC, datacenter or database management.
• SAP BTP administration and cloud-native engineering.
• Infrastructure as Code and automation frameworks.
• HANA Cloud administration.
• Observability concepts.
• CI/CD, DevSecOps.

Experience with:

• Terraform.
• Kubernetes / Kyma (preferred).
• Cloud application programming.
• Agile and Scrum methodologies in always-available service environments.

Leadership skills:

• Ability to lead engineering teams and vendor facilitation.
• Strong systems thinking to translate architecture into execution.
• Excellent stakeholder management.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and evolving technology strategy.

Platform Engineering, Administration & Capability Development:

• Lead administration, development, and evolution of reusable cloud platform capabilities, engineering frameworks, and shared services.
• Manage platform environments, services, identity and access integration, connectivity, and shared platform capabilities.
• Own end-to-end engineering lifecycle delivering scalable, secure, and resilient platform capabilities aligned with architecture and regulatory requirements.

Engineering Excellence, Automation & Platform Evolution:

• Establish modern engineering practices including DevSecOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automation, and cloud-native patterns.
• Lead technology evaluations and Proofs of Concept (PoCs) adoption of emerging cloud services.
• Improve platform reliability, operational efficiency, developer experience, and self-service capabilities.

Technical Leadership & Engineering Delivery:

• Provide technical leadership for complex platform initiatives, plan engineering capacity, manage dependencies and risks.
• Mentor engineering teams.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Operations, Security, Vendors, and stakeholders to translate strategy into execution and deliver reusable platform capabilities.

Primary job location is Madrid, with additional possible locations including Poznan, Warsaw, and Pune.
