Solution Architect - RDT Biometrics and Clinical Evidence (Warsaw or Poznan)

This team delivers software systems for CRF and RWD acquisition and ingestion of clinical trial data across Roche Pharma, supporting drug development and clinical operations. The work involves foundational systems such as Roche's Electronic Data Capture - Medidata Rave, non-CRF systems, and clinical data warehouses, which are critical for clinical data review, safety reporting, and operational insights.

• Minimum 7 years as a Solution Architect or Technical Lead, with at least 4 years in Life Sciences or Pharma industry
• Knowledge of Pharma regulations (GxP, Computer Validation) preferred
• Experience designing business-driven, standards-based, future-ready solutions in complex or multi-solution contexts
• Experience maintaining vision, roadmap, and landscape for multiple solutions
• Proven contribution to architecture practices and mentoring
• Experience with Clinical Trial Data Systems, EDC systems, non-CRF data systems, digital health technologies, and clinical data warehouses
• Experience with ETLs/ELTs, data warehouses/lakes/lakehouses, enterprise data integration, relational and object databases
• Experience with AWS or other cloud technologies
• Expert knowledge in multiple technology areas
• Proficiency in creating Conceptual and Logical Data Models, Taxonomies, Ontologies, and Integration pathways
• Ability to define and drive reference architectures, patterns, NFRs, and fitness functions
• Capability to evaluate external technology trends, including vendor assessments
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to influence stakeholders
• Proactive in identifying enhancement opportunities, managing technical debt, and leading innovation
• Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and collaborate during "Roche Golden Hours" (4:00 - 7:00 PM CET)
• Fluent in English

• Jointly develop the IT product roadmap with engineering teams and product heads
• Design end-to-end solution architectures meeting system requirements and business priorities
• Ensure compliance with Roche enterprise standards, principles, and policies
• Assess functional and non-functional requirements with Business Analysts and technical teams
• Document and evolve architecture throughout the product life cycle
• Collaborate closely with development teams to resolve technical challenges
• Explore, research, and pilot emerging technologies and propose adoption
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize IT investments
• Mitigate security and compliance risks from technical debt and obsolescence
• Propose and lead proofs of concept to assess technical viability
• Work with RDT teams on adopting AI and ML solutions for data pipeline development and management
• Collaborate with solution, information, and enterprise architects across engineering teams and products
