Lead IT Expert - RDT Data Platforms

The role is within RDT Data Platforms, operating under a decentralized Data Mesh architecture, delivering custom DataOps solutions across the enterprise within a regulated environment.

• MSc/BSc degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proven experience as Tech Lead, Platform Engineer, or Infrastructure Architect.
• Expertise in managing multi-tenant environments and infrastructure as code at enterprise scale.
• Experience operating within strictly regulated or validated environments (e.g., GxP).
• Expert-level Python skills for building automation frameworks.
• Deep knowledge of GitLab CI/CD and GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Docker, and HashiCorp Vault for secrets management.
• Experience with monitoring stacks like Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Familiarity with data platforms such as Snowflake, Collibra, Monte Carlo, Talend.
• Experience or interest in data orchestrators like Airflow and Dagster.
• Strong architectural vision and leadership capabilities including mentoring engineers.

• Lead the technical roadmap and refactor the DataOps.Roche platform to an orchestrator-agnostic Python framework.
• Manage Terraform-based infrastructure provisioning for CI/CD tools and secrets management.
• Ensure seamless regulated releases through automated validation processes and custom autovalidate package.
• Act as product owner, liaising with decentralized teams to improve developer experience.
• Guide senior leadership on platform strategy, tooling evaluation, and infrastructure investments.
• Lead migration from GitLab to GitHub and evaluation/implementation of Dagster as a data orchestrator.
• Architect platform observability and monitoring solutions for infrastructure and deployment reliability.
• Build a new internal meta-data product collecting telemetry for pipeline executions.
