Business Technology Risk Advisor – Vice President

State Street Global Technology Services (GTS) supports institutional investors globally by managing risk and driving digital transformation through cloud computing, artificial intelligence, automation, and advanced data management. The role is within the Global Technology Services division, part of the First Line Risk and Control (FLRC) function, partnering with technology business lines and CIOs.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, IT Security, Risk Management, or related field (advanced degree preferred) • Minimum 10 years’ experience in risk management and auditing with at least 5 years in leadership or advisory roles • Solid expertise in risk management and ability to partner with technology leaders as a trusted advisor • Experience in process optimization initiatives and regulatory remediation • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and program management capabilities • Understanding of SDLC methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps • Experience managing risks throughout the SDLC phases and conducting risk assessments and audits • Knowledge of network architecture, infrastructure components, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices • Experience with risk management tools such as RSA Archer and ServiceNow ITSM • Experience supporting operational resilience remediation and oversight • Familiarity with data management and governance frameworks, including data quality controls, metadata management, and data lifecycle policies • Analytical skills to interpret technical and data-related information and recognize potential risks

• Support the development and implementation of process enhancements aligned with business objectives • Own regulatory remediations within the area supported; support SMEs with closure documents and approach to closure • Assist in planning and executing projects aimed at risk reduction • Apply re-engineering techniques to improve process efficiency, product quality, and data governance • Collaborate on metrics development and use data to drive performance improvements • Partner with second and third lines of defence to ensure alignment with risk management and control goals • Implement and oversee data management and governance frameworks to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance

Emerging Technology Risk:

• Assess and advise on risks related to generative AI and agentic AI including data leakage, model bias, and regulatory compliance
• Stay current with industry trends, frameworks, and best practices for AI-related risk management
• Understand data frameworks in AI and cloud contexts ensuring robust governance and risk controls

Technology Risk Frameworks:

• Use knowledge of COBIT, NIST cybersecurity frameworks, and ITIL for risk mitigation and governance
