Senior Depositary Manager, Assistant Vice President

State Street is a global financial services company supporting institutional investors with risk management, performance, and profitability. The role is within the Investment Services function, serving asset managers, asset owners, insurance companies, and official institutions globally.

• Eight or more years of relevant experience in Depositary, fund services, custody, audit, or related financial services.
• At least three years of team management experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of Depositary obligations and practices, particularly for private equity, real estate, and alternative investment funds.
• Practical knowledge of cash-flow monitoring, safekeeping, ownership verification, and fund oversight.
• Experience managing managers, subject-matter experts, and operational teams.
• Working knowledge of fund accounting, custody, transfer agency, or investment compliance.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and AI tools; ability to use operational workflow, reporting, and risk-management tools.
• Degree in finance, accounting, business, law, or related discipline.
• Relevant professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA, or CFA (completed or in progress).

• Lead a team of 30–40 FTE through layered management, setting objectives and accountability.
• Coach and develop managers and specialists to strengthen technical capabilities.
• Establish a high-performance culture with transparent communication and adherence to standards.
• Manage day-to-day Depositary process delivery ensuring quality and control.
• Oversee cash-flow monitoring, safekeeping, ownership verification, and oversight activities.
• Use management information, KPIs, and KRIs to identify trends and resolve issues.
• Lead service reviews, provide reporting to senior management, and escalate material issues.
• Build relationships with clients and stakeholders across locations.
• Maintain compliance with Depositary obligations, policies, and governance standards.
• Manage risks and ensure timely remediation of control weaknesses.
• Lead or support audit, regulatory, client, and risk reviews.
• Translate forecast volumes into workforce and technology requirements.
• Manage capacity, productivity, and seniority within budget and headcount.
• Lead transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Represent the area in departmental, regional, and global programs.
