Senior QA Automation Engineer - Charles River Development, hybrid, Assistant Vice President

Charles River Development (CRD) is the FinTech division of State Street, building technology that powers investment management for leading financial institutions. The platform enables institutional investors, wealth managers, and hedge funds to manage the entire investment lifecycle across asset classes. CRD is transforming its platform using modern cloud technologies and scalable architectures on Microsoft Azure to support faster innovation and greater resiliency.

• Minimum 6+ years of experience in software testing within a process-driven technology environment
• Strong programming expertise in at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as Java, C#, JavaScript, or Python
• Hands-on experience in front-end testing using industry-standard tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or similar frameworks
• Experience in back-end/API testing including REST APIs, HTTP, and SOAP services
• Solid understanding of databases with practical SQL experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving mindset

Nice to have:

• Ability to translate business requirements into comprehensive functional and technical test plans
• Experience designing and implementing automation tests for web and desktop applications
• Hands-on experience developing and executing automated test scripts across web, desktop/native applications, APIs, and batch processes
• Experience creating and maintaining test cases, scripts, and automated testing tools for multi-tier applications
• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, k6, Gatling, or similar
• Experience maintaining manual and automated test libraries covering functional, integration, regression, and performance testing
• Familiarity with shell scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash

• Design and develop scalable automated test frameworks and regression suites
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality feature delivery
• Expand automation coverage across functional, integration, and system testing
• Support CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
• Identify quality risks early and drive continuous improvement in testing processes
• Contribute to shared automation libraries and testing infrastructure
• Advocate for quality engineering best practices across the development lifecycle

This is a hybrid role requiring at least 3 days of work from the office per week.
