Firmware/Software Engineer

Zebra Technologies' Machine Vision division develops intelligent smart cameras and machine vision systems for industrial automation, improving manufacturing and logistics processes.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years professional experience in embedded software development.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++ for embedded systems.
• Deep experience with embedded Linux, including kernel and driver development.
• Proven track record delivering complex software projects from concept to production.
• Outcome-oriented mindset focused on high-quality, impactful results.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Android system-level development (AOSP).
• Familiarity with the Yocto Project for building custom Linux distributions.
• Experience with Agentic AI or other advanced AI-powered development tools.
• Experience with Neural Processing Units (NPUs) or AI hardware accelerators.
• Knowledge of computer vision, image processing, or camera pipelines.

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for smart camera products using C and C++.
• Work on the Linux kernel, device drivers, and system-level services to ensure performance and stability.
• Collaborate with hardware and algorithm teams to integrate new sensors and machine vision features.
• Optimize system performance including boot time, power consumption, and data throughput.
• Champion best practices in software development including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Explore and implement solutions leveraging AI to enhance development workflows and product capabilities.
