Frontend Tech Lead (m/f/d)

Aras is a leading provider of digital thread solutions for product lifecycle management (PLM) and engineering AI. The company serves some of the world's largest manufacturers in industries including automotive, industrial equipment, aerospace and defense, high tech, and life sciences. Their software is built on Microsoft technologies including .NET 10, SQL Server, and various Azure services, along with TypeScript, Web Components, and open-source standards such as OData and OAuth 2.0.

• 5+ years of frontend web development experience with 2+ years in a formal Tech Lead role.
• Advanced knowledge of TypeScript and modern ECMAScript standards.
• Strong understanding of Web Components, browser platform APIs, accessibility (a11y) requirements, and cross-browser development.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture and design principles including OOP, SOLID, design patterns, component and event-driven architectures.
• Solid knowledge of modern frontend frameworks and state management approaches.
• Hands-on experience with modern frontend tooling such as linters, Vite, Vitest, Playwright, and Storybook, plus experience owning end-to-end frontend testing strategies.
• AI-first mindset with daily use of AI-assisted development tools and ability to establish team-wide AI workflows for development, testing, and documentation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, build tooling optimization, and developer experience improvements.
• Strong communication skills in code reviews, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
• Familiarity with agile practices and working in self-organized teams.

• Lead day-to-day technical execution: break down features into tasks, communicate complexity and risks, follow architectural guardrails, and escalate changes affecting other teams.
• Participate in delivery via hands-on implementation, daily code reviews, and technical troubleshooting; provide direct support to engineers.
• Define and enforce code quality standards including reviews, testing, branching, release practices, accessibility, performance, and maintainability.
• Lead AI adoption within the team: establish AI-first development, testing, and documentation practices; define usage boundaries and review standards for AI-generated output.
• Define and own the automated testing strategy; collaborate with QA and build a testing culture.
• Mentor and coach engineers to promote best practices in frontend development and UX quality; support professional growth.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks in developer workflows and team processes; improve build tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and developer experience.
• Track and prioritize technical debt backlog for intentional resolution.
• Provide technical input for planning including estimates, dependencies, integration risks, and early technical blocker identification.
• Collaborate with architects on design intent, constraints, feasibility; participate in discovery, prototyping, and proofs of concept.
• Coordinate with other teams on integration and shared changes.
• Onboard new team members with technical ramp-up, environment guidance, and codebase orientation.
