Python Developer

iteo S.A. is hiring an experienced Senior Python Developer to work on a mature and expanding system based on Django and Django REST Framework. The role involves working in a small development team with direct client contact, within a flat organizational structure, fully remote.

• Over 5 years of commercial experience in Python
• Expert knowledge of Django and Django REST Framework
• Advanced SQL skills and experience designing schemas in PostgreSQL
• Experience with AWS and Terraform for infrastructure as code
• Production experience with Docker and CI/CD tools (e.g., CircleCI)
• Experience designing asynchronous systems using Celery and RabbitMQ
• Practical experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code or equivalent
• English language proficiency at B2/C1 level for direct client communication
• Proven architectural independence from design to deployment
• Comfortable working with large, mature codebases (Django 2.x/DRF)
• Experience mentoring or leading developers

Nice to have:

• Experience with JavaScript, especially Cloudflare Workers
• Experience with AWS Serverless services: Lambda, SQS/SNS
• Knowledge of "fat model" architecture in Django (logic in models and managers instead of service layer)
• Experience with Swagger/OpenAPI in DRF (project uses Audomy on drf-spectacular)

• Develop and modernize a large Django/DRF codebase incrementally without rewrites
• Design and implement APIs using Django REST Framework
• Design asynchronous systems including workers, queues, and background processing using Celery and RabbitMQ
• Design database schemas and optimize PostgreSQL queries
• Maintain infrastructure as code with AWS and Terraform and manage CI/CD pipelines using Docker and CircleCI
• Take architectural decisions from project design to deployment
• Support and mentor other developers and lead code reviews
• Maintain direct technical communication with clients
