Utvikler – SRE Cloude Engineer

Digitaliseringsavdelingen (DIGA) is the IT department of UDI, responsible for UDI and immigration management's digital solutions. DIGA manages operations, maintenance, and development of these solutions and leads a modernization program running until 2031. Team Datalagring modernizes core databases by migrating them from on-premises to the cloud, and seeks to strengthen with a SRE Cloud Engineer to automate, monitor, and develop UDI's cloud database platform.

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with the listed tasks
• Bachelor-level formal education in ICT related fields or equivalent extensive documented experience
• Documented experience with cloud-based database operation and administration, e.g., Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, or Cosmos DB
• Experience developing proof-of-concepts for cloud monitoring with SRE AI agents or similar
• Experience with Microsoft Azure services including App Services, networking, security, and storage
• Experience with platform operations, observability, and lifecycle management
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps principles
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills in Norwegian
• Ability to obtain security clearance at BEGRENSET level according to the Security Act

Nice to have:

• Experience with Azure and PostgreSQL
• Experience in API-design (OpenAPI/REST)
• Experience with GitOps, Terraform, and CI/CD automation
• Experience conducting risk and vulnerability analyses (ROS-analyses)
• Familiarity with AI/ML platforms or handling high-performance workloads is advantageous

• Automate and standardize database platform operation using Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and CI/CD
• Collaborate closely with cloud development teams on deployment and runtime environments
• Establish and develop observability including monitoring, logging, and alerting
• Develop a proof-of-concept for UDI's Cloud Monitoring with an SRE AI agent
• Troubleshoot incidents and conduct structured root cause analyses
• Manage storage, backup, and recovery solutions
• Define requirements and lead cloud migration processes for databases
• Identify new opportunities and stay updated with cloud database technologies and trends
• Contribute to database architecture focusing on privacy and security together with architects
• Conduct and contribute to risk and vulnerability assessments (ROS-analyses) for the database platform
• Provide support to teams and projects as necessary

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance at BEGRENSET level according to Norwegian Security Law.
