Senior DevOps Engineer

Avid makes technology and collaborative tools for creators in film, television, news, sports, music recording, and live concerts. They provide a multi-tenant SaaS cloud platform called Avid Content Core running on AWS EKS.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or relevant experience
• 5+ years of experience designing large and complex cloud environments
• Background in development, operations, and full-stack implementations
• Experience programming in high-level languages such as Python, Go, Java, or similar for scripting installation and provisioning
• Strong understanding of application development methodologies
• Proficient with AWS, Terraform, GitHub Actions (or similar CI), Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, Istio, and ArgoCD
• Experience with GitOps tooling for multi-tenant infrastructure provisioning like Crossplane is a strong plus
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and schema migration practices in microservices
• Familiarity with policy-based authorization (OPA) and service mesh security patterns is a plus
• Problem-solving attitude and collaborative team spirit
• Ability to clearly articulate design and implementation choices
• Comfortable using a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools
• Effective in collaboration and open communication

• Establish and employ GitOps-based Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices using ArgoCD and GitHub Actions
• Implement industry Continuous Delivery patterns including progressive delivery, blue-green, and canary rollouts using Argo Rollouts
• Identify and automate manual processes related to multi-tenant provisioning and infrastructure-as-code
• Provide last-level technical support as needed
• Build tools to reduce errors and improve customer experience
• Perform root cause analysis for production errors in a multi-tenant SaaS environment
• Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
• Guide teams in designing, building, testing, and deploying software changes with attention to tenant isolation and blast-radius containment
• Consider IT infrastructure, networking, security, identity, and observability when making system changes
