SharePoint Migration Engineer

The position involves collaboration with a partner in the construction industry to provide services as a SharePoint Migration Engineer. The project includes migrating data from local file servers (Windows Server, NAS) to a Microsoft 365 environment, including SharePoint Online and Azure Files.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in data migration projects or administration of Microsoft environments, confirmed by project work.
• Practical knowledge of working with large data volumes and network shares on Windows Server and NAS, including understanding of source-side permission structures.
• Fluent familiarity with Microsoft 365, especially SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Azure Files.
• Documented practical experience in executing migrations using SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT).
• Proficient knowledge of Polish and English languages.

Nice to have:

• Experience communicating with data owners and business users outside IT.
• Knowledge of the tool ShareGate as a supplement to SPMT in complex migration scenarios.
• Knowledge of PowerShell and basics of migration process automation.

• Performing data migration from Windows Server and NAS to SharePoint Online and Azure Files using tools such as SPMT.
• Verifying completeness and quality of migrated data regarding structure, permissions, and content compliance with source.
• Designing target data structures in SharePoint Online in cooperation with infrastructure, M365, and security teams.
• Monitoring migration progress, analyzing logs and error reports, and executing supplementary and repeat migrations.
• Reporting work progress, updating migration registers, and maintaining current technical project documentation.
• Analyzing directory structures, network shares, and source-side permissions prior to migration.
