Principal Solution Architect

Autodesk is a company that creates software used for designing buildings, cars, factories, and movies. The role is within Autodesk Consulting and focuses on evolving an Intellectual Property platform into an enterprise-ready SaaS product.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 10+ years of experience designing and delivering complex software platforms
• Experience as a Software Architect, Product Architect, Principal Engineer, or equivalent technical leadership role
• Experience designing AI-enabled, knowledge-driven, or workflow-centric software systems
• Experience with knowledge graphs, semantic architectures, ontologies, taxonomies, graph databases, or retrieval systems
• Experience evaluating and implementing AI technologies, including LLMs, RAG architectures, intelligent assistants, or autonomous agent patterns
• Experience leading technical spikes, rapid prototyping, or proof-of-concept development
• Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, APIs, distributed systems, and modern software engineering practices
• Experience designing secure, privacy-conscious software platforms within enterprise governance
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 15%

• Define and evolve the architectural vision for Workflow Advisory and knowledge-driven platform capabilities
• Design semantic architectures, knowledge models, and knowledge graph capabilities
• Define architecture patterns enabling workflow automation and intelligent decision support
• Establish standards for knowledge representation, lifecycle management, governance, and reuse
• Translate business workflows into reusable domain models, services, and architectural patterns
• Design scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native architectures
• Ensure platform services, APIs, and knowledge assets are discoverable and consumable by AI-enabled applications
• Apply AI and LLM technologies to improve knowledge discovery and workflow execution
• Collaborate to ensure architecture meets enterprise security, privacy, compliance, and SOC2 requirements
• Align architecture investments with business outcomes and technology strategy
• Drive adoption of architectural standards and reusable platform capabilities
• Mentor engineers and architects and communicate architectural direction to senior leadership

• This role may require in-person onboarding and/or in-person ID verification.
