Staff Platform Engineer - EU

Ashby builds software that enables talent teams to create an efficient, delightful, and respectful hiring process. The company has notable customers including Notion, Linear, Shopify, and Snowflake, is growing rapidly with tens of millions in ARR, and serves over 2500 customers with very low churn. The engineering team is focused on building scalable infrastructure and powerful tooling for Talent Acquisition software within a remote, low-meeting, high-ownership culture.

• Experience building infrastructure supporting millions of data points
• Proven ability to automate provisioning, monitoring, and release processes
• Comfortable handling infrastructure updates, security enforcements, database optimization, Kubernetes debugging, and Typescript trace analysis
• Strong coding skills; platform engineers are responsible for application code at platform level
• Proficiency with SQL and data modeling
• Self-driven with ability to deliver projects autonomously without heavy management
• Effective written communication skills to share tooling and best practices asynchronously
• Willingness to take ownership and make technical decisions independently

• Optimize the homegrown ultra-dynamic recruiting DSL-to-SQL compiler and create tools to assist developers
• Create automated guardrails to secure and protect customer data
• Enable fast feature delivery through canary deploys, gradual rollouts, and feature flags while managing complexity and reducing downtime
• Collaborate with business and engineering teams to define SLOs and implement corresponding SLIs
• Ensure communication with external services supports retries and circuit-breakers
• Implement infrastructure supporting event-driven architecture and data warehouse
